Ropppngi Hills, Mori tower 52nd floor

One of my personal favorite place in Tokyo is the top floor of the Mori tower at Roppongi hills and it’s sky deck (helicopter pad).

Since I am from Finland, a country that does not have any big cities or beautiful city views at least not like here in Tokyo. Sitting up there in the Mori tower watching the beautiful Tokyo from above makes me feel somehow relaxed and calm.

I took couple of photos there as well. Sadly the weather was not ideal since the sky was full of fog or something that looked like fog so my photos got a bit grey is tune.

I hope you enjoy these photos.

First photos are taken on top of the Skydeck

You can even see Skytree a little bit through the fog

I was very surprised that they actually build a ice skating ring at the tower

Lost in Roppongi Hills

Image

Tokyo Tower Roppongi Hills 六本木ヒルズ
I came to Roppongi Hills to take photos of the Beautiful Christmas illuminations but had kinda little mistake and came too early when it was still very bright outside and the lights were not lighten up yet. I was walking around and got lost couple of times but got some nice shots taken.

I had to go to that Finnish sauna evening that you can read in the post before at 5.45pm and sunset was supposed to be like 4.45pm but at 4.40pm I started walking since I thought that I could quickly search for the lights and walk to Hiroo station but after 20 minutes of walking I noticed that the place did not look anything like it supposed to be. I quickly whipped out my phone and tried to check gps but it failed on me so I used my japanese and asked a japanese man “すみません ひびやのひろお駅わどこですか。” (excuse me, where is Hibiya line hiroo station?” and he was like “ひろお駅?とおいよ”(Hiroo station? Far !) when I heard that I knew I was right that I walked too far, he started explain me how to go there but the way he was telling was way too long way to walk in my time frame so I quickly double back to Roppongi hills and jumped to the hibiya line to Hiroo (the next station). Long story short, I was at the meeting point 30mins too early pretty much but didn’t bother me that much.

OK ok you wanna see photos right ? 😀 Here are some I took and tomorrow maybe I will go to take more photos of the beautiful Christmas lights if the rain stops. ( Raining a lot now in Tokyo)

Asakusa and Odaiba

Image

I got very beautiful photos last sunday as you have probably seen in my flickr. I would say that some of these are the best shots I have taken in Japan. I’ll tell you what I did that day.

In the morning we were thinking what to do, my girl wanted to visit a cat shrine at Asakusa and also buy some famous japanese sweets as well that they sell there. Had a breakfast at Subway which was very interesting since it was very much different then the subway I am used to.

When we arrived to Asakusa we went to Senjo-ji first to pray. A lot of people as usual.

The search of the Cat shrine started! Wasn’t too difficult to find but it is kinda far but absolutely worth it. Small place but very nice for people who likes cats, if I am not mistaken it is also called love shrine.

Sadly when we arrived to the shop where my girl wanted to buy her sweets, they were solled out. Seems that they are bit famous that only one shop in Asakusa sells them, bur we decided to get something else that was also tasty.

We took the Asakusa line to Mita station and from there were walked to Odaiba through the rainbow bridge, because I wanted to take photos and because I’m kinda trying to save money.

Normally walking through that bridge doesn’t take that long but since I had all my camera equipment with me I was taking photos like a madman.

Here are some examples what I got.

I got some amazing shots of the Tokyo tower as well ! Even tho the Sky Tree is big and wonderful, we can’t forget one of the main symbols of Tokyo.
THE MIGHTY TOKYO TOWER !

Also from the Odaiba beach I got some great photos taken.

Those small boats you see at the beach with those beautiful colors are actually floating Izakayas ( japanese type of bars) and Monja&okonomiyaki (see what these are at my japanese food page) restaurants. They are not actually that expensive either the ones I read about only were about 4200yen to 6000yen a person. I’ll see if I will go on one of those boats this Autumn!

After this long day of walking and photo taking we were both hungry and decided to find a restaurant in aquacity that had a beautiful view. Of course at that time all the restaurants were pretty packed but we did find this very delicious American buffee restaurant, eat and drink as much as you want for 2000 yen, lots of delicious foods and deserts as well

just 2 photos of the many many plates we had, if I remember right we had total about 10 empty plates so that would make 5 and 5.

Whose desert looks more delicious to you ? My girlfriends or Mine! I say mine!
